IT ASSOCIATION OF KOLHAPUR CONTRIBUTION IN COVID 19 DISTASTER MANAGEMENT
Due to vary nature of the CORONA virus being infectious and spreading predominantly through droplets by cough/sneezing of a person to person in the vicinity, scientists and administration realized that this COVID 19 pandemic needs to be managed differently. All doctors, nurses and volunteers along with administrative officers need to follow social distancing while offering their contribution in the fight against COVID 19 pandemic. WHO and ICMR has prepared guidelines accordingly. While there are general guidelines published by central and state governments, District collectors are given the freedom to take certain decisions on the execution of the guidelines as required specific to the geographic and local requirements.
Kolhapur district administration with full-fledged preparation by themselves also appealed to all NGO’s for active contribution. Considering the appeal IT Association of Kolhapur also decided to offer contribution as one of the associates of KDMG along with other associations. Execution of various measures without coming in to contact use of IT was assured with a holistic approach.

IT association has provided user-friendly web site to enable to appeal and seek help from willing volunteers and NGO’s in the district as it was not possible to mobilize huge requirement of manpower and material in short notice. Telemedicine & Teleconsulting :
It was essential to maintain social distancing in mass scale in COVID 19 pandemic. Medical advice and consultation required were needed to provide through telephone/mobile to maintain social distancing and to avoid travelling/movement of the citizens. State of the art infrastructure and services required were provided by Manorama Infosolutions Pvt. Ltd. in coordination with doctors.
Citizen Tracking System :
To avoid and control the spread of the COVID 19 it was very essential to screen and follow up the person/persons entering the district from another district/state for the proper process of registering, testing if required and instructing to follow strict norms for home quarantine / institutional quarantine/hospitalization as required. Keeping the track from registering to the entire period of the quarantine period is required along with actions as required. For this effective infrastructure as required was provided by Manorama Infosolutions Pvt. Ltd.
MahaAyush :
It was observed that most likely victims of the COVID 19 pandemic were citizens above 50 years of age with reduced immunity and already facing some other disease. Hence district administration decided to conduct a health survey of all citizens in the district above 50 years of age. Nearly 11.5 lakhs citizens were surveyed for major diseases like TB, Lungs disease, diabetes, Asthma, BP, Kidney etc, symptoms like temperature, cough, body ache etc along with information regarding out of district travel history, contact with COVID patient and handing over of prevention medicine kit. The survey was carried out through 3500 Asha workers / Anganwadi sevika / primary education teachers approx. using MahaAyush Android application developed by Surve Infotech Pvt.Ltd.
