15 Years of Consistent Follow-up… Kolhapur IT Park Finally Approved!

For more than 15 years, the IT Association of Kolhapur (ITAK) has been consistently advocating for the development of an IT Park in Kolhapur. Through continuous follow-ups, discussions with government authorities, industry presentations, and persistent representation at various levels, ITAK has worked with a clear vision — to create a strong IT ecosystem in Kolhapur.   Today, we are proud to share that the Maharashtra State Cabinet has approved the development of the Kolhapur IT Park, marking a historic milestone for the city and the regional IT industry.   This achievement is the result of the collective efforts of all past Presidents, Directors, and the current Executive Body of ITAK, who have dedicated their time, energy, and commitment to this cause over the years. Their persistence and unity have played a crucial role in bringing this long-standing vision closer to reality. I would also like to extend special thanks to MLA Mr. Amal Mahadik and MLA Mr. Rajesh Kshirsagar for their valuable support and for raising and pursuing this important agenda at the government level. Their involvement helped bring the matter to the attention of the state leadership. The approval of the Kolhapur IT Park will:

• Create new opportunities for IT investment
• Generate thousands of employment opportunities for local youth
• Enable local IT companies to expand and grow
• Position Kolhapur as an emerging IT hub in Maharashtra

At this important stage, we strongly believe that local IT companies from Kolhapur should receive priority in the upcoming IT Park, so that the talent and entrepreneurship already present in the city can grow further. I would also like to take this opportunity to appeal to the industry, institutions, and the business community to support local IT companies and the initiatives of ITAK, so that together we can build a strong and sustainable technology ecosystem in Kolhapur. The journey of building Kolhapur as a recognized IT destination has just begun, and ITAK will continue to work with the same commitment for the growth of the IT industry in the region.
